Boiler Fittings: CI or black iron?

Any differences or preferences on fittings for boiler piping? Tees, elbows, bushings, etc.?

There are a few odd sized Tees (1-1/2x3/4x1-1/4, etc.) that I need and I am finding them in CI, but not black iron. Any problems with the CI, or is it a better choice, or is it weaker and prone to crack? I've read CI is a better choice than steel when transitioning to copper so that is one plus.

Pete

Cast iron is fine. Steel is stronger but it would take a bit of work to break any cast iron fittings accidently.
