flux shelf life

Does tinning flux have a shelf life? I have a can of oatey #95 that I have used on and off for about a year without a problem. Yesterday I overheard a salesman telling someone flux is no good after 6 months. The guy was a salesman so I took it with a grain of salt. Any truth to it though? thanks

I'm a bad example...

I never even put the lid back on my flux... it sits open for years and works fine.

Smile Flux

It dosen't matter what salesmen say, most fluxes will last to the end of time<sic>, what you can do is to try a test and see if you can tin a piece of metal, if not the flux is probably bad, the times that you run into this are rare. Lots of luck
