new shower stall

I bought a new fiberglass 1 piece shower unit and want to install it but not sure if I can just attach the drain pipe to the old shower drain I have. It was a homemade shower stall with a concrete floor and a wall around. The old drain is in the concrete with a drain cap on top. Can someone tell me what I need to do to install this? Will I need to tear up the concrete and install a new pipe? I can send some photos tomorrow if need to see more closely

Shower install

If you bought a new shower there should be dimensions that came with the unit, these will determine if the original drain will work, I have my doubts. Without knowing the actual situation this is the best answer that I can give you, sorry.

Dishwasher Venting

I recently demolished my kitchen and remodeled. I am using the same dishwasher as it is fairly new. The old sink had a vent for the dishwasher drain, positioned next to the faucet on top of the sink. I am replacing the old garbage disposal with a new one, and plan to run the dishwasher drain through that. My question is do I still need to place a drain vent on top of the sink? Also, can someone explain to me the need for this vent. Thank you.

Hi, My house is in Louisiana and my water meter and the drain for the street both are located in my front yard. Several years ago, the street was raised much higher than my yard and now I would like to get some dirt and raise the level of my yard to be the same as the street. I'm estimating that I'm going to raise the height by 6 inches in some places. My question is: What is the best way to raise the covers for the water meters and the drain?
