Question stinky pit

We have a bad oder in our basement laundry room. It seems to go away for a couple of days if I pour a little bleach in the sump pit. I have a toilet in the basement using overhead plumbing (toilet ejector pump) and have noticed the vent line is plumbed to the sump pit while the discharge goes to the sewer drain. Was this install done properly ? We non't have a high mineral water content in our area. And I don't notice any alge in the pit.

Welcome to the forums! Since the vent goes to the pit as well as the toilet, you may very well getting a back up of gasses from the toilet. Have you checked for a vent blockage, yet? It sounds as if the vent has acorns, limbs, leaves, etc in it preventing proper movement of the gasses upwards, and the only place they have to go is bubbling back through the pit.
