OK, all you guys out there, I am trying to fix my own faucet, so don't give me a bad time. The faucet in my back yard is leaking out the top of the handle. As far as I know, this just started today ~ I have a lix-it on that faucet for my dog, but took that off to attach the hose. When I put the lix-it back on, it started leaking. At first I thought it was the lix-it, but it's not. The faucet is leaking out the top of the handle ~ where the screw is on the faucet in front ~ none on this one. I looked, but couldn't find a screw lying around, and honestly, never really paid attention to whether or not it had one before. Is that all I need, and if so, what size?? I tried to take the one off the front, but it's on there GOOD.
Thanks so much for helping a "helpless" female! ;-)

Welcome to the forums! We are nice to nooby's, so relax. You may be able to stop the leaking by tightening the nut just under where the handle goes. There is a packing washer just below that which requires a little pressure to expand it and keep it water tight. Don't over do it, though. Now, if it doesn't stop the leak, the packing washer may need to be replaced. Let's do the tighten up thingy first. Post back and let us know how that goes.
