Best way to connect copper to pvc

Need to tie a PVC irrigation system (1" PVC) to a 3/4 copper line on a water meter. I am no good with sweating copper. What type of compressions fittings would work, and be legal? Suggestions???

Try one of the big box homestores. I've seen some connectors from nibco that have a stainless self locking sleeve, they come in all different sizes and are supposed to be able to rotate after installation. I've never tried them, I dont know how well they work or hold up, but might be a quick fix...
