pressure tank shot?

With the well pump off and the drain opened to the pressure tank, no water comes out and the tank is full! When I try to check the air water comes out of the valve stem and wont drain out of the tank. Any suggestions?

Time to replace the tank. No water should be above the weld line. In your case the bladder is ruptured. Give it a decent burial.

Its a blue aqua air v60, is it the bladder type or other type? I was told it might just have to be forced out with air. Why cant the water drain out? If I do have to replace it, should I buy a bigger one. This one is 20 gallons.

Water probably won't drain because of possible sludge build up. Regardless you will want to buy a bladder type to replace it with. The older ones didn't have a bladder and the head space of air was absorbed by the water and you had to drain the tank to create an air space on top. If you have a tire fill valve on top, it was a bladder type.

A 20 gallon should suffice for a normal sized house's usage.
