noisy bathroom plumbing

When the bathroom toilet is flushed the bath tub and sink drains make a loud gurgling noise. What's the usual problem and remedy? Thank you.

Welcome to the forums! It sounds as if you have a venting problem. Take soda, place a straw in it, place your thumb over the end of the straw and withdraw it from the bottle. The liquid will stay in the straw until you release it and allow an equalization of air pressure. Similarly your house venting system is built like that, and with an occlusion in the vent pipe it has to get air from somewhere and it is trying to suck out the ptrap of the tub and sink. To remedy this, it will require a road trip to the roof. Chug the pipe with a garden hose (water off) until the occlusion is released into the sewer system. HOWEVER, if you don't feel comfortable getting on the roof, call a pro. It isn't the fall, but the sudden stop that makes for a bad day.
