ok to use PEX compression rings on PB?

I have a house built in 96 with mostly PB. I need to remove temporarily one water line that feeds a toilet in order to tile the floor, and then reattach the line afterwards. Can I use the PEX compression rings (1/2) for the PB line? They look identical. I'm not using the ones with the shoulder on them, just the solid ring.

Thx

Hmmmm, no reply??? I assume you have the proper fitting tools??? You can't just use a pair of pliers you know. Not sure if the rings are interchangeable.

I think fittings and crimps for PEX are not usable on PB. Not positive, because haven't seen any PB for a long time. The place that is selling the fittings should be able to provide specs. If not, contact the manufacturer.

Fittings should not be interchanged. Crimp ring is different size also.

What does this really mean...it's temporary and it may work...temporary.

grabbed copper PB crimps, apparently you use the same crimping tool for the PB crimps as you do for pex. seems to be holding.

thx
