Water Pressure Shower

My water pressure in the shower and the tub acts normal for about three minutes and then drops off from about six gallons a minute to about three gallons a minute and then returns to normal. We bought the house about four months ago and the house is four years old. I know very little about plumbing and am looking for some possible direction on this issue

Thanks
Bill

What do you have for a water supply? Town/city or well? It its town water and the shower is the only faucet with a problem then it might be bad guts. Take them out and bring them with you to a hardware store to get new ones. If you have a well, the maybe the well kicks on while you are in the shower when the pressure drops then when it refills the pressure goes back up.

Also, are you sure its 6 gallons a minute? If so that is a big waste! Get a water saver shower head. You can get the same feeling of the water pounding on you but with a lot less water(if you go with a good one).
