plumbung vibration noise

When the washer starts to fill or when I flush the toilet, there is a vibration noise (not a bang like water hammer) lasting from 10 to 20 seconds. The piping is cpvc. It does not happen every time. What would cause this?

Lightbulb RE: Vibration Noise

I have seen similar symptoms in my two toilets. The noise is quite annoying more so for guests visiting.

Any hints or ways to check for the source and HOW to fix it??

THANKS!

Sounds like the washers in your toilet fill valve are loose and are vibrating. This will cause either a tremendous vibration in your water system or a very annoying low rumble sound.
All you need to do is replace the fill valves in your toilets. If you have a standard gravity toilet, you can replace your current fill valves with the Fluidmaster type valve. Even at a small hardware store these valves shouldn't go over 10$ a piece. Just follow the install instructions. Very simple
