Slow drainage

I recently had a problem with my bathroom bathtub and bathroom sink being clogged at the same time. I hired a plumber to fix the problem, which he did. But now I have slow drainage. He said that copper pipes in the basement are old and corroded and should be replaced. Do they need to be replaced or can they be cleaned out by me?

Are you talking about the drain, or copper water supply lines?

(You don't have copper drain lines do you?)
