Elec. pump provides weak water pressure?

Six months ago I bought a house with an underground
water tank and an electric water pump. The water pressure
is weak in general, particularly in the showers. How can I get more pressure? The pump has no pressure adjustment on it. Is this a common problem? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks, Paul

Do you have a pressure tank installed after the pump? Sometimes the pump is so undersized, it can't keep up with demand such as a shower. With a pressure tank, it will build up and provide adequate pressure and the pump will only come on when needed to refill the pressure tank.
