1/2 24 tap???

Seems I have found the impossible search. I need a 1/2 24 tap to save a customer a lot of money. They are "betwen jobs" and can't afford the solution, a new shower faucet body.
It needed new valve stems and new seats. One seat disintegrated when i tried to remove it. Can't get out the remainder without damaging the threads. Sterling faucet, found new valves, new seats, new cups, new handles, and now can't fix it because I need a tap that does not seem to exist.
Suggestions???
