Shower water pressure

Hi,
Over the past couple of months I have noticed a strange water pressure issue in my shower. I am in the middle of taking the shower, everything seems fine. All of a sudden the water pressure drops very significantly. It is 5 am, there is no dishwasher, washing machine, water filter, etc happening. What could it be?

Are you on municipal water, well or community well system? If on a community well system, 5am, everyone else is taking a shower, too, 5 minutes apart. If municipal water, what is your inlet pressure past the PRV? It may be too low to begin with, and after utilizing the pressurized water from the water heater, it falls below acceptable range.

Yes, I am on municipal. It has been fine for a while, this morning it is back. Seems like a big drop in water pressure throughout the house. I dont know how to check the inlet pressure. I had the town come out, they said the water pressure was fine. Of course, it was fine when they came.

It can be amazing how much your pressure drops when your neighbors all jump in the shower, their sprinkler systems kick on, and all the toilets flush... Try a shower at different times of the day/night to see if the problem still exists....
