garbage disposal

My garbage disposal ( ISE Badger 1) doesn't grind and dispose of waste food. It sets in there. Blades turn and lines are clean. Is it dead?

u mean when u Turn ON the switch it just sits there? if so (1st be sure the switch is off) then try pushing the reset button, it could be on the bottom or on the side near the bottom of the disposal. if it makes a little snap sound when u push it then it should work when u turn on the switch. if that didn't fix it then u might have a bad switch, or no power at the switch, or maybe a bad disposal.

1)If unit hums when turned on something
has the blades lodged,this is when you
can insert the hex key underneath the center
of the disposal and turn until motor
turns freely.(key should have come with
unit). if not a hardware store person
will no what you need.
2)if unit runs fine and you are sure the drain is not clogged maybe the drain work
under your sink is a nightmare.Garrettplumco.
