no hot water

I recently bought a house with a heat pump water heater that is approx. 2 years old. I have enough hot water to take 2 showers (maybe)so I turned up the thermostat a little. This did nothing. Now, I have nothing but cold water. The water heater seems to be working, however, before I call a repairman, I'm wondering if this is something very simple that I can fix. I am a single mother, who has little money to spare. Thank you for any help I can get!

not knowing the recovery of your heat
pump I cant tell you if its working properly
or not,do you take back to back showers?
It does sound like you need too call
a professional.
there is a little more involved with a
heat pump, than a plain old water heater.
