What is the simplest, most durable way of repairing a hole in a copper supply line?

Thanks!!

if you are speaking of the supply line
under a sink that leads from the shut off
valve up to the faucet, then a standard
flare or compression adapter will work
great.if you are speaking of a supply line in a basement, perhaps one of your main lines,
a soldered connection is always best,if the
leak is on a hot water line do not use any kind of dresser coupling!now may be a good
time to take soldering lessons.
if soldering is not an option then you may use a compression coupling

Thanks. I actually talking about the copper pipe in the wall. Would I treat that the same as the pipe in the basement?

I recommend a soldered connection
since the repair will be covered up
with sheetrock when you are finished.
Then you will have piece of mind
