Tankless water heaters

I am thinking about replaceing a tank water heater with a tankless heater. The old tank heater is breaking every single code it can in he house I'm buying. In a 2 bed, 1 bath 1 or 2 person house. Would a tankless be worth it?

Its not that difficult to bring a heater
up to code,and only having one bath I think a tankless heater is overkill.
A good 50 gallon heater will last 10 years
or more with proper care and provide you
with plenty of hot water.Also what exactly
is in code violation?
