I have two problems that I believe are related. Does anyone have an idea of the cause?

#1 For the past month the water pressure in every fixture in the house pulsates. This is all 3 toilets, showers, and faucets. I have well water with submerged pump replaced ~ 4 yrs ago. Pressure tank and hot water heater 1978 vintage (Jackson Manufacturing).

#2. For the past two years, I have had low pressure in the kitchen sink. The faucet was replaced ~ 3 yrs ago. The faucet needs to run several minutes, before I can get hot water. This is not found in other fixtures in the house. The problem is similar to one in Consumer Reports, July 1999, where it was attributed to pieces of broken plastic from hot water heaters made 1993-1996. It said older hot water heaters did not have the plastic parts. My hot water heater is 1978 vintage.

how close is the kitchen to the hot water source, and you can check for pieces of
your plastic dip tube in the aerators
on the faucets, just screw them off and see if there are any little pieces of plastic,
although I believe you should be ok on that.
