We were out of town for five days. We didn't leave any water running, but left the heater on so the pipes wouldn't freeze. Now, we have cold water, but no water at all (hot or cold) comes out of the hot water faucets. There is hot water in the water heater. What can we do to get hot water running through the faucets again?

If you have copper or galvanized water piping I would open up the hot on the
bath tub and go thru with a propane torch and thaw the pipes,If this can be done without burning the house down this is
effective.start from the water heater
and follow the hot lines thawing as you go,
be sure to leave a couple of fixtures open
so when it thaws it can flow.
