Cool

When flushed, water only comes out from the back of the rim of the toilet. Although this is a considerable amount of water, there is no water coming from other parts of the rim and there is no "swirling action". Therefore, the toilet flushes very sluggish. Any ideas?

Hi Lori:

Sounds like you have a mineral buildup inside the toilet. I really don't have a solution for this, so, I'm going to move this question over to plumbing.

Hi Lori,

If the water in your area is very hard, then you may have a mineral deposit build up. I have had this similar problem. I used muratic acid (available at most hardware stores -- comes in gallon containers -- and is very inexpensive) to fix my problem. Use very carefully (eye and hand protection) add a cup to your tank and half a cup to your bowl -- let soak overnight -- flush in morning. Repeat if necessary. Avoid breathing fumes! Muratic Acid will corrode metals so be careful where you store the container. Good Luck.

IF THE TOILET IS A TOTO OR A UPC BRAND THIS
IS THE WAY IT IS DESIGNED TO FLUSH,IS IT A NEWER TOILET(WITHIN THE PAST 4 YEARS?).
THIS IS CALLED A DIRECT FLUSH TOILET,
IT DOESENT USE THE SWIRLING ACTION.
DID THE TOILET SWIRL AT ONE TIME?
IF NOT THERE MAY JUST BE SOMETHING HUNG IN THE TRAP,INK PEN,TOOTH BRUSH,SQUEEKY- TOY,ETC...
TELL ME WHAT HAPPENS

wearing rubber gloves, feel under the rim and using a metal coat hanger clean out the water ports. They tend to clog up with mineral and calcium deposits
