Question

I had a small leak coming from under the tub spout. Assuming I could just remove it and fix the problem with some pipe dope I twisted and the corroded nipple simply broke apart. The copper nipple was attached to a galvanized elbow incorrectly. Is there a simple way to remove this small piece of corroded copper remaining in the elbow or do I need to cut the elbow out and replace it? Also if the elbow does need to come out, would you recomend going in from the backside where there would be more room to work or chisling out some tile in the shower. Which way would be easier to repair.

Cool

Replied to direct email inquiry from this post, and told him all about removing with a 1/2" easy-out, etc.
