I recently replaced my shower head because it was leaking, but within a day or so the new one was leaking. Any suggestions?

Cool

If you mean that it leaks when the shower is on, check for an out-of-place o-ring in the shower head itself or wrap 2-3 turns teflon tape clockwise on the threads, and reinstall. If it is leaking when the shower is off, then the problem is in the hot and cold valves (probably just need new washers and/or valve seats). You will need special tool similar to sparkplug socket (of right size) to remove valves, and another special tool to remove valve seats, if that is the problem. Might need to call a plumber, if you don't have, or can't borrow, the tools. Good Luck!

Unhappy

Old Guy,
I have a leaky shower head when shower is OFF. I also have hot/cold with one large plastic knob that turns to cold, then to hot water. I don't see the washer or valve seats your talking about. Please explain further what I need to look for.

Cool

I was assuming a separate shower with two handles (hot and cold) on the first question. You have a shower/tub diverter valve, which is entirely different. Disassemble and replace worn washers, 0-rings, packing and/or worn parts or replace entire diverter valve if it's worn out. Good Luck!
