Question

Can I mount the aerator device that is connected to the dishwasher drain and garbage disposal below the level of the sink? I'd like to use the existing hole in the sink (for the dishwasher/garbage disposal air intake) to mount a reverse osmosis faucet. Can I just mount the airator just below the sink?

I would not mount the areator device below the sink. Instead eliminate it at it really is not needed. Hook the dishwasher drain directly to the gargage disposal. When you do make sure the dishwasher drain hose is higher than the garbage disposal. Otherwise water and garbage from your sink will backflow to your dishwasher.

One main reason I would never out an areator below is because what a mess if it leaks. And they usually do at some point. A master Plumber told me to never put in an areator because "the things are nothing but trouble" and I heeded his advice and have never had a problem.
