I have a rural water system consisting of a well, above ground pump, and water heater. When we use water (hot or cold), we get air blasting out and sometimes we get brown water also. I have removed the well cover and listened for any sign of air being sucked into the line, but heard nothing. my well is a 70' dug well. the water table is about 3 feet below grade, so we should have lots of water. I have done a visual inspection of all the lines, and i have also listened to them while the pump is running, but have seen/heard nothing. ANy help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You started exactly where I would have and that is the water level. And since the symptoms sound exactly like the pump is sucking air I think I would suspect the suction line. That too would cause air to be in the line.
