We have just replaced a pressurized water tank for a well and all the pipes ;eading from it. But are having trouble sealing the connections. we are using pope thread compound but as soon as we turn on the water, every joint leaks. Are we missing a step?

Try 2-3 wraps of teflon tape wrapped clockwise on threads. Good Luck!

Teflon tape, as suggested by the Old Guy is a good place to start. Also, don't overtighten the joints. Hand tight, then 3/4 to a full turn more is plenty.
