I am replacing the old cast iron vent pipe that runs through the house and out the roof with 2" PVC. The old 2 1/2" cast iron pipe had several bends or 90 degree turns. My question is, can you have turns with a vent? Or should the pipe run straight up and out? If you can have turns, how many can I have...

You can have up to 4 90 degree bends (360 degrees total). Imagine yourself as a rain drop that enters the vent on the roof. Just make sure that there are no uphill sections in your path to the drain or waste line below.
