garbage disposal problems

I recently replaced our kitchen sink. Everything went well except reinstalling the garbage disposal. The snap ring was streached out. I replaced the gasket but it still leaks. I have checked the local home depot and they will not sell just the phlange for the disposal. I would like to just do away with the disposal. What will I need to make a connection from the existing sink drain to the existing drain pipe? I do have a dishwasher which is connected to the disposal. Will I need to replace the sink drain?

If you want to eliminate the disposal, you'll need a new sink basket and a tailpiece with a dishwasher inlet. If you have a double bowl sink, you'll also need a crossarm between the two bowls and a tee (that should already be there), then into the trap.
