Angry

my water bill was up $66.00 last month. We had a guy come out to check for leaks and he found the toilet running. The only way we could tell it was running was to take the lid off and practically put our ear in the tank and then we could hear it running.

We replaced the ballcock assembly with the new fangled one and it still runs ever so softly.

Any ideas?

Replace the flap. It's easy to do, and that is probably your only problem (directions on back of bubble package). Good Luck!

Cool

If you have an old style toliet with a brass valve under the flapper ball, you may need to smooth it out with some emery cloth.
