I have to repair a toilet in our house at least once a year and it's getting old.

It always begins to leak through the rubber drop valve. I've tried scouring the opening, I've tried replacing the valve, and I've tried retrofitting the entire assembly. Last night I noticed it was leaking again.

I don't think there is anything unusual about our water. Other toilets in the house seem to be fine (or have different problems :-)

Has anyone ever had a similar problem? Is there a brand of replacement valve or retrofit kit that is better than others? Thanks in advance for your help and advice.

Cool

Do away with the drop valve, and try a Kohler flap. Just follow directions on package. Good Luck!
