capping copper pipe

I need to cap off a copper pipe that goes to an outside faucet. it is under the house in a crawl space. I would rather not have to use a torch to soldier it. can i cut it off and use a cpvc cap to cap it off? it is a small diameter pipe and i would cut it off close to the main bigger pipes.

For about $5 you can get a Sharkbite fitting to cap off the pipe. Any Home Center will carry them. Just cut the pipe off square, deburr the end and push on the fitting per the instructions.

Wink

yup sharkbite fittings are the way to go fast and easy, just make sure you put it on straight. as if you put it on crooked it will not seal right and the fitting is pretty much wrecked.
