Question

Our main drain to the city line backed up recently. The plumber said the problem was a collapsed pipe. Our house is only 20 years old and the main line is cast iron. How do I properly identify the problem and what are my options? What questions should I ask the plumber?

Get a plumber who can run a video camera through the waste line. That will show you exactly what the problem is and where it is. Then you can repair as necessary.
