Question

I also have a toilet that refills every 5 or 6 minutes. It doesn't refill completely but it seem that the floater ball dips low enough and it fills up a bit then shuts off.

I've replace a leaky ?floater flap? cause I could hear the water dripping. After that there is no dripping sound but the dang toilet still refills every 5 minutes.

Any help?

Sounds like the flapper valve is leaking. Replace it. Might just as well spend a couple more dollars and get it as a set with the Fluidmaster fill valve too. Replace both and be done with it.

Hi, I believe from your letter you already replaced the flapper valve. The little hose from the fill valve that goes into the overflow tube can cause the problem you are having. Make sure the hose doesn't go into the tube to far or the water pressure will keep the flapper from seating properly and the toilet will leak. You should see the water from the hose enter the the tube as you sight across it, if you can't, the hose is too far in the tube. Good Luck Woodbutcher

Check the height of the fluidmaster top, it should be 1" above the refill tube. If fluidmaster is brown adjust heights by squeezing metal clip on thin rail, if its the 400 model theres a slide cover on the main shaft, slide it down with a little pressure & raise shaft accoringly. Shut off supply line while doing this(not necessary, but precautionary.

Hi..you might check the flush drain opening {the drain that the flapper rest on }. Sometimes the lip of this drain will build crud on it and won't let the flapper seat properly. Usually some fine grit sand paper will clean it right up. Good luck Charlie...
