Question

Whenever we run water in our bathroom sink, foul (sulphur-like) odors come from drain. We're cleaned the drain, taken out the s curve pipe and checked for deposits, and run drain cleaner through, but nothing helps. This doesn't occur on any other faucets. Anyone have ideas of the cause/cure?

Cool

Sounds like the vent to the drain may be plugged or partially plugged. This will cause the water in the trap to siphon out allowing sewer gas back into the room. Go up on the roof (carefully) and look for the vent pipe above the sink. Check it for leaves, birdnests, etc. You may have to run a plumber's snake down it to clear it. Good Luck!
