Cool

You need to make sure WHAT is leaking. If it is a valve, it can be replaced. If it is the tank, then the whole water heater needs to be replaced. Good Luck!

There is no "overflow valve" on a water heater. There is the brass T&P valve (on or near the top) that should have a 3/4" pipe connected to it, and there is the drain **** at the bottom (with hose threads on it). Which one is leaking?

It's the one on the bottom with the hose threads. It looks like it has a black cap on it. The leak seems to be coming from under the black cap.

You probably have some sediment in the drain **** that is causing the problem. Connect a hose to the **** and run the hose outside. Open the drain **** and count to five, then close the ****. That SHOULD clear up the problem. After you disconnect the hose, watch the **** for a minute or so and see if it still leaks. If it doesn't, you're finished. If it does drip, post again and we will tell you how to change the ****.
