Ceiling Water Leak between 1st and 2nd level
#1

I just noticed a water leak in our
dining room ceiling. The leak took
out about 2 feet of paint. The ceiling
is the bottom of 3 level townhouse built 23 years ago. I
assume it is leaking from a pipe between
the 1st and 2nd floor. The room above the
leak is a bedroom.
Please give me information on what kind
of a problem we might have and how it can
be fixed.
Thank you,
John

Sounds like you have leak from your shower drain. Hopefully, you can remove and repair it from above, but you may have to cut into the downstairs ceiling directly under the shower. (Water is probably running down drain pipe, and just dripping off under the bedroom.) The sooner that you repair it (or have a plumber repair it), the less damage you will have. Good Luck!
