Question

When adding a new bathroom, should the concrete foundation be jack hammered in order to run the new pipes. We are remodeling and are hesitant about disturbing our foundation. Please reply with any comments.

Thanks,
Shari

Can you not tie the new plumbing into the existing plumbing?

If not adding a new hole through your foundation should not effect it, unless your removing alot more then that is required to be removed.

We are tearing down a wall between 2 bedrooms. The bath will be located in an area that has no plumbing in the foundation. Our existing bathroom is the room next to this new bath so the farthest distance we will have to go to tie into our plumbing will be around 7 feet. You think we should disturb the foundation or build up the floor?

knocking a 6" hole through the foundation should work, and should not hurt the structure.
