Small leak

good evening fellas,

I installed a "Y" in a vent (wet vent) for a second floor 1/2 bath. The Y leaks on the lower portion of the fitting. I used primer and plenty of adhesive. The Y is in a very tight spot. It leaks one drip every 30 seconds or so.

How can I get this to stop without pulling the Y out? I chaulked the rim with silicone and this stopped the leak.

Is this a good idea? Is there anything else I should do?

Thanks in advance

Silicone has its uses, and this ain't one, but if it stopped the leak, and it isn't broken, don't fix it. Should the leak recur, remove the silicone and daub the area with Wet 'r Dry PVC cement. It works in the presence of water and may help resolve the leak. Otherwise, the joint can be popped off and reglued, hopefully, or the entire junction cut and redone.
