We have a major problem this morning- the pvc cap on the water line at the meter (on our side) has busted out. Is there something to remove pvc glue so we can replace the cap without having to replace the pipe?

Cool

I'm not a plumber, but I am not aware of anything that removes hardened pvc glue other than sandpaper. Try that on pipe and to clean out cap enough to fit back on, and re-glue. Good Luck!

G. Todd:

Can you cut the end of the pipe off with the broken cap attached, then cement on a PVC coupling, short piece of new pipe and a new cap? Would that work?

...or perhaps a PVC union instead of the coupling.
