Whole House Water Filter

I have just installed a whole house water filter. It is plumed in just befor the water softner. in the bypass setting there is plenty of water in the system. When it is placed in the filter mode water trickles to a stop within 15 - 25 seconds. The water filter is a GE brand GXWH40L. Any help will be appreciated.

What micron filter are you using? If it is a 1 micron or smaller, it is too small, and you should probably be using a 5 micron filter in it. Do you have the filter in the correct position, with the flow arrow in the right direction?

Filter is ok. Micron requirements are ok. I'm beginning to think that the valve assembly is faulty. The system is pretty stright forward-water in water out-unless the assembly is bad. Next step is to take it back to HD and replace. That may work. Thanks for the info.
