Drain a Gas water heater

I have rust in my hot water only. The water heater is only 5 years old. I drained a little water from the tank and it was very rusty.
How do I drain a gas water heater? Is there a bigger problem with the heater?

I'd replace the water heater, rust is a indicator that the wall inside of tank is going bad.
