See if you qualify for the class action suit. Do a search for polybutylene in this forum, or go to http://www.spencerclass.com/ and http://www.lisco.com/inspectionconnection/pb.htm

I bought a new manufactured home back in 1996 and it had the gray poly tubing/pipe in it, BUT it did not have the Gray compression fittings which I believe (I was told this from the manufacturer of the home, and I saw some of the paper work on the topic)are the real source of problems. The Plastic fittings failed completey, in some cases breaking clear in half, in peoples walls and crawl spaces. BUT I would ask a real plumber to tell you if that is still the case (for all I know now the pipe/tubing might also be suspect).
Infact the home I am know buying has the "gray pipe" but all the joints are held together by copper bands/clamps. If your plumbing is a series of pipes and gray pastic fittings using threaded nut type compression joints I would be more suspect.
