Restricted Hot Water Flow
I have a 35 year old home with galvanized pipes. When I turn on the shower downstatir (closest to the water heater) the water temporarily runs brown then clears up but the flow is low. The hot water flow throughout the house is generally low. I'm reasonably certain the hot water pipes are plugging and wondering what I can do, short of replacing the pipes. I have very good water pressure on the cold side.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions,
Randy

When galvanized plumbing pipes rust inside and fill to the point of blockage the remedy is replacing them with plastic pipe.Attempting to open them is risky as the rusting may have weakened the walls and any sort of harse chemical and/or powered snake etc may come through them. The problem you have is one that is just a matter of time with all steel set ups of any kind.Your day of reckoning has arrived.
