Leak detection dye for PVC drain?

I found a leak in my 3-inch PVC drain (vertical) and managed to patch. However, I found that there is still a minor leak somewhere. Is there a dye (or other method) that anyone could recommend to detect where the leak is coming from? (I'm assuming that I must have missed the actual source, but this would also tell me if my patch failed). Thanks.

If the leak is active, mix up some food coloring in water and pour at least 2 gallons in the drain at once. You'll find it.

Is this plumbing already in use? If not, cap off all lines and fill with water or air. If it is, you could try to cut the pipe below the vertical pipe and cap off with a hose connector and fill from the bottom until you find the leak. You could add food coloring to speed the process along.
