Outdoor Copper Pipe Plumbing

Our new plumber is re-routing our home water system using copper pipe burying the line in soil. Question: does the copper pipe need to be protected by being insulated from the outdoor elements? We live in Hawaii. If the copper pipe needs to be protected what suggestions for insulation are there.

Undeground water line

Your answers should come your local plumbing dept., but from here the answer is no. In the other states the line is buried below the frost line, there may be a minimum dept where you live reguardless of a no frost situation, luck.
