shower head

I had a new tub spout installed by a plumber. Ever since when I turn tub water on, the cold water streams from the showerc head, if it is turned on full force. Only when the cold water is on,not the hot. I have a brand new divertor, the plumber is saying the angle is the reason the cold water leaks. This does not sound right to me. Is the plumber taking advantage of me because I am a single senior ?Can someone help me ?

No...something is not right...not a plumber, but I know when things should work correctly.
Don't get the angle not right thing...angle of what?

Sounds like you have a 2 or 3 handle valve? How far are the handles above the tub spout? How far is the shower arm above the handles? Do you have a knob on the spout to lift and direct water to the shower (not if you have a 3 handle of course).

the only ways i know of to get this problem is if you have a big time difference in pressure between the hot and cold, a problem in your valve or your hot water system or a problem with the piping to the spout but not the spout itself
