Distance from base of soil stack

Hi,

I'm looking at installing a full bath in the basement near the main soil stack. The 3" stack comes down about 15" away from the foundation wall, drops about 12" under the slab, turns to horizontal with a long radius 90 and exits under the wall.

I'm thinking of replacing the long radius 90 with a combo-tee-wye and draining my new basement bathroom into the "back" of the combo-tee. I guess this is essentially extending the building drain further into the house. The toilet will be drained with 3" and wet-vented with 2" that also drains the tub and lav.

How far back from the base of the soil stack do I need to go before I can connect the basement bath group? I've read 10 pipe diameters (30"), but that seems to only apply on the "downstream" side of the building drain -- does it also apply on the "upstream" side? Thanks.
