Venting an island bar sink

Hello,

I installed a bar sink in my island, and do not know the proper way to vent the sink. Since there are no walls to feed the vent up and connect to the house vent. The sink drains ok, but it is kind of slow and I'm guessing a vent would help it drain quicker.

Thanks,

Well, to pick on you a little, you apparently failed to get the mandatory permit for this, but anyway, that is a different story.

At this point, the way to solve the immediate problem is to install an Air Admittance Valve ( commonly know by the brand name Studor valve.)

Not all plumbing codes will allow them, as there another way to vent an island. This is known as an island vent, or loop vent. It is too late to install that, unless you have access underneath the floor.

Another method is called a combination waste and vent, where you would run a pipe, 2 sizes larger than the drain and then vented at some other place in the basement to a vent in the attic. Once again, unless you have access to the floor below and maybe some closets or walls for the vent, this will not be feasible.
