Add Laundry Tub to existing washing machine supply/drain

Can I add a laundry tub to my existing washing machine supply and drain?

I would like to add a laundry tub about 6 feet away from my washing machine. Can I use the existing water supplies and drain?

lionsandwings: You probably can as long as you have a separate trap for the laundry tray and a vent, the water should be no prob, best I can do without knowing your pipe layout, luck.

it depends on your local codes. some areas will allow you to run the laundry tubs drain into the washers stand pipe (where the hose for the machine goes) so you dont even have to worry about installing a trap or worrying if it is vented properly
